Social science is divided into several  branches of science that studies society and the relationships of individual within a society , it have many branches such as sociology, economic, psychology, anthropology and some others. But those branches are different from one another in certain ways. Sociology is based on the study of society or what we can call the study of human behaviors, and it focus on social group in society.Political science is focus on politics and government, as you can see this two social science are different either in one way, sociology is based on a social group and political is based on government which in one way is responsible on how people behave in there communities and also how to help the people and make them to be united.Psychology which is different because is focus on the process that occur with the individual inside which is also have to be involve with sociology because have to be how problems affect people in the communities. As u can see there are many different of branches of Social Science

Social Imagination Outcome

Social Imagination is the capacity to discern the relationship between large scale social forces and the reaction of individuals. We were focused on the word sociology and its relationship with the human life. The outcome that we determinated which connect to this issue was. “Student applies sociological imagination to their own lives and lives of others”. We did a time line and we wrote a flash fiction story related to issues that connect to the meaning of sociology and its impact that this word had in a past and also able to created from our own imagination a story conecting its meaning to our lives. The undestanding of the meaning of sociology and its connection with real life is notable . Because by connecting it with my own life and things around me, it had give me a better point of view of the human behavior and how human faces these issues by himself or with other humans.

LIterary Elements and techniques in George Saunders

Student analyzes the use of literary elements and techniques in George Saunders’ writing.

  • This story is connected to Irony in the way that in this story there are so many things that happen that the character has not be waiting to happen . for example at the beginning of the story one part of the story in which Dori is making out with Chef Wayne she said that she would never go out with Wayne. because he is not the type of man she likes. but later on in the story we found out that Doris is Chief Wayne wife that shes marry with him and that Wayne real name was Chef Wayne so people have different identity and they are pretending to be some one else. the other literary element is sarcasm. and the part of the story that shows this is when brad is taken into custody and Ironically, Doris believes that the world minus Brad is now a “hopeful atmosphere” where “gratitude for all the blessings [they’ve] been given.” this is stupid because the world is better with individuals like Brad who are not always thinking about their own well being but of the others.

Student analyzes George Saunders’ stories through the lens of moral dilemmas, altruism, and egoism.

  • The moral dilemma is know when the protagonist (brad) has to decide to save the life of a baby or just kill him. . Brad has a good heart and wanted to help the baby because the baby’s sickness. However, Brad’s wife (Doris) and the other family members wanted to rid off of the baby. As Doris is thinking about to have fun and don’t care about others, also the other members doesn’t want to have a trouble kid, and all wanted to kill the baby. As you can see Brad’s family shows egoism because they are thinking about themself only and nobody else. But Brad think in another way and that why he is a good person

018.0910: Student analyzes George Saunders’ stories through the lens of moral dilemmas, altruism, and egoism.

My group story is called brad Carrigan American. The outcome that we choose was # 18 that was about moral dilemma, altruism and egoism, like you know moral dilemma is when a person is morally obliged to do something that he or she doesn’t want to do.Egoism is when a person just think about them self.

The family of brad they are disagree with him because they don’t care about other they are egoism and they just care about them self, so they said that his idea is a stupid idea that they not going to given those thing to any body they care is they never used but they not going to help them. Our moral dilemma was that “Brad need to choose help poor people or choose his family”, because if he help the poor people he have to forget about his family, so is a hard decision that he have to make.
